Set up by John McNamara, a Yorkshireman and lover of imaginative company names, McNamara Tree Surveys are an independent Tree Consultancy company based in Glenavy, County Antrim.

32-year-old John first lived in Northern Ireland in 2010 when he moved over from his native Huddersfield to study at Queen’s University Belfast. After travelling the world and unsuccessfully convincing his partner to live in England, John succumbed to the wishes of his partner and moved back to Northern Ireland in 2018.

Personally and professionally it is one of the best decisions John has taken. Since moving back, John has developed a wealth of knowledge and experience in Arboriculture, working with one of the most respected and revered Arboriculturists on the island of Ireland – Paul Hawksford.

In the summer of 2022, John took the decision to set out on his own and establish McNamara Tree Surveys with the aim of providing expert tree consultancy at affordable prices to both the public and private sector.
